diy: chasing tail

in my ongoing quest for fuzzy, furry things, i stumbled upon this faux-fur “tail” in a flea market.  unsure on it’s eventual usage, i put it into my bag, it looked kinda cute dangling on the outside, so i fashioned it into a purse charm!

start with:

  1. (x1) fur tail (real) or (faux)
  2. (x1) keyring
  3. (x1) eyelet (3/16″)
  4. (x1) eyelet setter

begin by punching hole w/ eyelet setter, thru fur base.  cut any excess, as needed.  affix eyelt thru hole, and use eyelet setter to affix in place.  use a butter knife to open the keyring, so that eyelet/tail can slide thru keyring threads.  super easy!

  4. I bought a black leather pouch from a consignment shop a few months ago and it has two raccoon tails dangling from the side as well as a patch on the front. I get stares all the time, but it is my favorite thing in the whole world! Gonna use this DIY and attach tails to everything that I own!
